“Organic farming is our way of life and way of thinking. In modern society, an eco-green lifestyle is becoming increasingly relevant.
Ecological thinking is associated with caring for the environment, consuming organic products, our health and the health of our children. We believe that organic food is the basis of a healthy diet. We invite you to think about this too.”
The farm ‘’Vilkači’’ was founded in 1992. Since 2016, there has been an organic farm here, specializing in the production, processing and sale of organic products.
On the farm it is grown 3.79 hectares of quince, 6.9 hectares of black currant, 1.82 hectares of sea buckthorn, 1.28 hectares of pears; on the remaining area, grains and perennial herbs are grown, from which herbal teas and various crops are also produced.
All products produced on the farm are not only sold fresh, but also turned into delicious organic snacks.
The farm produces:
• candies made from quince, rhubarb, pumpkin, strawberries;
• pine cone syrup, quince syrup, rhubarb, mint, sea buckthorn, black currant, strawberry;
• apple, blackcurrant, quince, pumpkin, sea buckthorn juices;
• herbal teas: teas from mint, chamomile, linden, rowan, evening primrose, nettle, black currant leaves, raspberry leaves, white and red clover flowers, apple flowers, yarrow, pine needles, etc.;
• mixtures of nettle salt and various spices;
• various berry rolls – raspberry, blackcurrant, currant, strawberry, blackberry, apple;
• sea buckthorn powder, chokeberry berries;
• fresh berries – black currants, sea buckthorn, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, wild strawberries, etc.
The farm actively participates in various exhibitions: “Balttour”, “Novada garša”, thematic events of the Latgale planning region in order to popularize healthy eating and green thinking.
The farm also works with tourists - upon prior request, „Vilkači” offers excursions around the farm, tasting of products, it is possible to organize various master classes: preparing fruit and berry marshmallows, or preparing apple cheese, etc.
